Clerks, Peons named as UP Board evaluators

Date :10/29/2015 4:40:24 AM
Most of the schools in remote areas across the state have listed peons, chowkidaars, clerks and those involved in sanitary work as 'subject experts' for evaluating answer sheets. Gross anomalies have been detected in the naming of evaluators for next year's class X and XII UP Board exams. This year's process is scheduled to be completed by December 31. The anomalies were detected after the board expedited the process of preparing a database of invigilators for the Class XII practical exams.
Principals of all government, aided and self-financed schools have to provide details of subject experts for evaluation and invigilation work for the board exams. Teacher details — including academic qualification, year of joining and expertise — are uploaded on the board's website as part of a system introduced in 2013.
UP Board secretary Shail Yadav has written to the principals to rectify the mistakes as soon as possible. "Principals were found to have uploaded the name of chowkidaars, safai karmcharis and clerks along with other non-academic staff in the past year also "This year too such anomalies have been detected and since the work is undergoing, principals have been strictly warned that they should immediately delete any such mistakes."
"While doing the same, it was found that principals in remote schools across the state have uploaded the name of non-academic staff for invigilation," a board official said on the condition of anonymity. "After this, the details of teachers being uploaded for evaluation were screened and innumerable schools were found to have committed the irregularities." He said details of non-teaching staff along with those of academic staff had been uploaded by the principals. Most teachers were found to be ineligible for evaluation and invigilation work.
