UP Board Exams to begin on Feb 18, 2016

The UP Board high school and intermediate examinations for 2016 will be conducted from February 18 onwards. The high school examination will be held in 15 working days and would conclude on March 9 while intermediate examinations will be held in 25 working days to end on March 21, 2016.
 
 
The examinations would be conducted in two shifts - from 7.30 am to 10.45 am and from 2.00 pm to 5.15 pm.
 
However, the Board realizing the pressure faced by examinees before examination of major subjects in high school science stream has tried to give reasonable gaps for its preparations. In high school examinations, Hindi paper would be held on February 18 followed by Mathematics on February 23 and Science on February 26. Further after a gap three days English paper would be held on March 1 and Social Science examination on March 9.
 
The districts that have been identified as sensitive and where examinations would of the Board would be held on coded answer sheets include Aligarh, Mathura, Hathras, Etah, Mainpuri, Firozabad, Kasganj, Azamgarh, Jaunpur, Allahabad, Ghazipur, Agra, Kaushambi, Kanpur Nagar, Kanpur Dehat, Fatehpur, Chitrakoot, Kushinagar, Ballia, Deoria, Bhadohi, Moradabad, Badaun, Sambhal, Hardoi, Gonda, Ambedkarnagar, Shahjahanpur, Sultanpur, Sant Kabir Nagar and Siddharth Nagar.
 
A total of 67,93,034 students are registered for the examinations including 37,49,977 students for high school and 30,43,057 students for intermediate examination.
 
According to Secretary UP Board Shail Yadav, as compared to last year, 3.69 lakh additional students - 2.51 lakh in Class 10 and 1.18 lakh in Class 12 - would take the examinations this year.
“For high school examination, 37,49,977 students have enrolled for 2016 as compared to 34,98,430 students in 2015. This year 30,43,057 students have enrolled for intermediate examination as compared to 29,24,768 students last year,” she said.
 
As per the Board secretary over 12,000 centres have been arranged for the examinations besides for ensuring free and fair conduct of examinations and curbing use of unfair means, 31 out of 75 districts had been declared sensitive in state for which coded answer sheets would be dispatched.

UP board schools to open Facebook and Twitter pages

Soon, schools affiliated to UP board would have to update academic and extra curricular activities on social networking site Facebook and microblogging site Twitter.
 
The Department of Secondary Education has made it mandatory for all aided, non-aided and government intermediate colleges to open accounts so as to apprise parents, students and also authorities about the activities going on in schools.
 
The joint director (education) of each division has been made the nodal officer for operating the sites. They and district inspector of schools have been asked to open Facebook and Twitter accounts. The move came after a department survey revealed the deteriorating scenario of education in the state. Schools in Allahabad, Lucknow, Varanasi, Agra, Aligarh, Gorakhpur and Azamgarh divisions were found to be imparting poor quality of education.
 
The Department of Secondary Education has made it compulsory for all aided, non-aided and government intermediate colleges to open Facebook and Twitter accounts. The objective of the department is to update parents, students and also authorities about the activities going on in schools.

माध्यमिक विद्यालयों के शिक्षकों को जारी होगा पहचान पत्र

यूपी बोर्ड परीक्षा को ध्यान में रखते हुए शासन ने प्रदेश के सभी शासकीय, अशासकीय सहायता प्राप्त एवं वित्तविहीन विद्यालयों में कार्यरत शिक्षकों को शासन की ओर से पहचान पत्र जारी करने का निर्णय लिया गया है। यूपी बोर्ड के सचिव अमर नाथ वर्मा की ओर से जारी आदेश में कहा गया है कि पहचान पत्र के लिए शिक्षकों का डाटा, प्रधानाचार्यों की ओर से बोर्ड की वेबसाइट upmsp.edu.in पर उपलब्ध कराए गए विवरण से लिया जाएगा। 

सचिव ने पहचान पत्र शुद्ध हों इसके लिए वेबसाइट पर अध्यापकों का विवरण पूर्णरूपेण शुद्ध एवं स्पष्ट जारी करने का आदेश दिया है। सचिव ने प्रधानाचार्यों को निर्देश दिया है कि बोर्ड की ओर से उपलब्ध कराई गई यूजर आईडी एवं पासवर्ड से बोर्ड की वेबसाइट upmsp.edu.in को खोलकर अपने विद्यालय में कार्यरत शिक्षकों केविवरण एवं उनकी फोटो को जांच कर पूरी तरह से अपडेट कर लें। अध्यापकों के विवरण में उनके स्नातक एवं परास्नातक के विषयों के विवरण देना जरूरी है। इसके लिए बोर्ड की वेबसाइट 25 जनवरी तक खुली रहेगी।

UP board goes digital, check on fake marksheets

Marksheets would carry a bar code that would be fed in the server. The existing certificates carry a hologram, which does not help in keeping a check on fake certificates. All the students appearing for board examinations in 2015 have applied online and therefore their data is automatically fed into the server.
 
To keep a check on fake certificates and marksheets, Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad has come up with an ingenous method of issuing documents online.
 
The process of digitisation of details of ongoing session for classes 10 and 12 has started with online registration. The decision to make certificates digitised was recently taken at the level of state principal secretary (secondary education) Jitendra Kumar.
